If they're identifiable as either Millwall or Spurs then clearly they're as guilty as sin. Don a black hanky and send the fuckers down.

Other than that enjoy it. It'll be either as boring as fuck or quite interesting.

Been called up twice FC. Hope you get on a good case. One of mine was a driver trying to run over a copper and driving off. Great fun! The other was a GBH case. Bloke decide to lay into another outside a nightclub, with a trolley jack handle! Gory pictures.

Managed to avoid mine. Rang to say I was deaf and needed a hearing aid and was politely excused. Was a relief as I don't think Jury Service comes with subtitles!

Did mine a few years ago and really enjoyed it.
Take plenty of reading material etc as there’s a lot of waiting around if your not selected though.

Re: Jury Service
I had mine a few years ago when I was only 19 and one of the cases was an assault charge where we found the bloke not guilty.

A few of us went to the pub afterwards and the not guilty bloke was in there. He was hammered, recognised us and confessed that he’d kicked the shit out of the other fella!

So, in summary, it’s all a crock of shit! Enjoy!

Crown Court Snaresbrook?

Re: Jury Service
I did a stint there, be prepared to be bored and if on a Jury don’t use your mobile in the Court room.

Re: Jury Service
done it twice. I was the henry fonda type character in both trials. you'll notice that most of the other jurors don't take much notice about the evidence and make snap judgements very quickly :.)

Mine was at The Old Bailey. Murder trial...

Be prepared to have to take weeks out of work.

A fascinating if morbid experience.

Had to have a fairly large police presence at the verdict and was escorted out of the City of London by the court security detail at the end of it.

Also, getting the train home and having the witnesses and some of the families of those in the dock stood next to you on the tube is a real and unsettling possibility. Haha, what larks!

First day tell them you’re a massive racist and you’ll be released in no time.

It’s a scary thought that if taken to court, your life is in the hands of 12 people too stupid to be able to get out of jury duty.

Got lumbered with a 2 month long Robbery trial at Snaresbrook. Made a few bob at the time Court paid me plus expenses and Company paid my normal Salary.

Had a two week murder trial at the Old Bailey two years ago and I really enjoyed the experience - as much as you can when hearing about a grim murder, anyway - https://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/news/uk-world-news/mohammed-anhar-ali-jailed-26-2770704).

It was open-and-shut (he called the Police to tell them he'd killed his wife), but there were a couple on the jury who were looking at the 'we can't KNOW what he was thinking' angle - but you could, it was obvious, his excuses were ludicrous. It took us two hours to come to the easiest decision ever made, it was ridiculous.

Food was pretty decent, but you could buy outside and charge it back. Got through a LOT of Polos as I was using those to make sure I stayed awake. Had a couple of moments that were laugh-out-loud funny but you have to stay composed. The lifts were all being worked on while I was there - my calves hurt after a couple of days. You might not even get a case, it seemed very hit-and-miss.

Sat in the public gallery at the Old Bailey a few years back observing a murder trial. Fascinating stuff watching people and i could easily have sat there for longer than the hour i did it if hadn't been for the missus dragging me out

Never been called up for service which is both surprising ( at age 56 ) and disappointing

Although my boss had a 2 week stint and spent the best part of10 days reading books in the waiting room before being dismissed
